Sarah Lange is currently the pastry chef at Flores and the Ladies Gunboat Society in West LA. She also bakes breakfast pastries and breads for Field Trip at the Farmers Kitchen, a café with strong ties to the Hollywood Farmers Market. You can find her homemade granola at Menotti’s Coffee Stop in Venice and Dinosaur Coffee in Silverlake.
Sarah fell in love with baking at a young age and spent the summers of her teenage years running a small baking business in her home state of Pennsylvania. After dabbling in several different careers, she moved to Los Angeles in 2006, and the city's exciting food scene inspired her to ditch the entertainment industry and follow her culinary dreams. She started out in the pastry department at Craft Los Angeles when it opened in 2007. Next she moved from fine dining to layer cakes and retro snack treats at Cake Monkey Bakery. In 2012, she signed on as pastry chef at The Hart and the Hunter, the southern-inspired restaurant where she developed her down-home all-American style.
Hailing from central Pennsylvania, Sarah is very interested in exploring Pennsylvania Dutch culinary traditions, which are rooted in farm-fresh produce, food preservation, and German-style breads and pastry.
