elysian is a place where people, food, discussion, and celebration meet. We host a regular Monday dinner series called night in, and also rent the space for private events. This September, in collaboration with Clockshop, we began hosting a program called Cheap Talk, a conversation series that brings cultural and civic workers together in conversation on a range of social, political, agricultural, and culinary issues.
From 1970–2002 this building was the home of the Glendale Mold Shop, a manufacturer of molds for porcelain products, owned and operated by Ben Hubbard (pictured above). From 2003–2010, the space housed the studios and residence of Julia Meltzer and David Thorne (www.meltzerthorne.com).
